Significantly, after the general voters’ registration, no party contested the final result at the revising court (meaning you’ve all acquiesced to the final result). Moreover, I remain convinced that this voting process is free, fair, and transparent. Absent credible evidence, we should desist from clouding legitimacy over the winner’s mandate to rule for the next five years. A very dangerous precedent!
Regarding the pressure from the rejecting camps, I truly hope you reconsider your decision.
First, your agents certified the initial result from the early polls. Thereby, either waiving any claims of abnormalities or substantiating the result.
Second, although you claimed to continue investigating alleged shenanigans, you illustrated zero evidence of fraud–no assertions that the total number of votes cast is more than registered voters, yet.
The peace message is apt but fell short of qualifying the options available to all of you. I expect from the leadership, in no unequivocal terms, that you only have legal options, which are your due process rights.
May peace continue to prevail in mother Gambia and may Allah continue to protect and bless us all. May our young and fragile democracy continues to thrive and our jurisprudence enriched.
