Kebba Secka alias ‘Boston’ was stabbed to death, on Tuesday, during an encounter with the Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG) officials.

Secka was a final-year school at The  University of The Gambia School of Business and Public  Administration at the Kanifing Campus.

The President of The University Students Body,  Ebrima Dampha, confirmed to The Gambia Times that Mr. Secka  (deceased) was believed to have had a serious encounter with officials of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) which resulted to his death on Tuesday night.

His colleagues at the University described him as God-fearing man and very kindhearted.

A statement on the Facebook Page of The University Relations Office states that “according to  confirmed  reliable  sources, the deceased was stabbed to death Tuesday night around Palma Palma Rima, Kololi”.

The Facebook post further indicates that the whereabouts of the culprit(s) is  still unknown.

The burial schedule is yet to be confirmed as the body is currently at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH)  for an autopsy.

The Police Relations Officer, Lamin Njie, was not available for comments on the incident.

Ousman Saidybah, the DLEA Public Relations Officer (PRO), said there was no sanctioned-DLEA operations around Kololi where the incident allegedly occurred. He also went further to confirm the news from the police commissioners in Banjul and Yundum who confirmed to him that there were no DLEA officials on duty around that part of the town.


“So far, according to our preliminary report there were none of our men involve,” said Saidybah. He promised that they will conduct their own investigation on the matter and will inform the public on their findings.
