OFFICIAL SUBMISSION OF CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS

The Democracy Watch Gambia (DWG) wishes to inform the general public that it has today Tuesday 27^thNov 2018 officially submitted its Recommendations for Constitutional Reform (the DWG Pack) to the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) with our submissions with respect to the CRC Public Consultation Questionnaire to to follow in due course.

The DWG as a pro democracy advocacy entity is and shall continue to be ardently supportive of all efforts whose desired outcome(s) is/are to improve, develop and preserve Gambian democracy. In line with the aforesaid, the DWG in principle fully supports the noble work the CRC is doing and shall continue to actively engage where possible.

We would however emphasise that DWG’s above pragmatic and reasonable position does not constitute a shift in position with respect to the s.226 of the 1997 Constitution question.
